How long should they last?
We expect our wiper blades to last at least 1 year and our extensive 1-year warranty will cover everything including wear and tear.
However, in our experience if you maintain your wiper blades properly, they can last for anywhere between 2-3 years and still perform really well.
Here are some factors that can influence the longevity of your wiper blades:
1. Exposure to UV
While the rubber refills on all our wiper blades are UV-stabilised, prolonged UV exposure still has a damaging effect on them over time.
If you car is garaged, the rubber blades won't be exposed to as much UV and therefore will last longer.
2. Cleanliness of your car's windscreen
Dirt, road grime and especially bird droppings or tree sap can quickly accelerate damage to your wiper blades. Having a clean windscreen drastically improves the lifespan of wiper blades.
3. How much you use your wiper blades
Longevity of wiper blades also depends greatly on how often you use them. Avoid running your wiper blades on a dry windscreen as this will also increase wear, reducing longevity rapidly.
How to extend the life of your wiper blades
To extend the life of your wiper blades we recommended using windscreen washer additive to lubricate the screen when using the wiper blades. This reduces friction on the windscreen and leads to less wear and tear.
How to know when they're due for a replacement
The largest automotive clubs in Australia (RACV, NRMA and RACQ) all recommend changing your wipers every 6 to 12 months in order to ensure optimal vision for safe driving.
